Thanks to National Lottery Community Funding for a second time, this time of £10,000, we can carry on the important task of helping improve the mental health and wellbeing our members. This started because of the lockdown's we have all endured over the last eighteen months and has seriously affected everyone's mental health and general wellbeing.
Once restrictions were slowly eased and we were able to resume our regular face to face meetings, we decided to focus on getting people out and about via group day trips. Since July we have squeezed in four outings, and on each one the predominant features were laughter and chatter. Faces were beaming with delight and happiness, so the inside must have been happy too.
With this in mind we decided to focus our 2022/23 program on the continued improvement of mental health and wellbeing, so, are planning on doing more outings we would normally do. Having seen the huge benefit people got form our outings in 2021, it was clear this was the way forward and fits in with our main objective as a small charity, which, quoting our constitution:
C. Objects. The Charity's objects are to relieve persons suffering from stroke by the provision of support advice and recreational facilities to such persons and their carers, in the interests of social welfare so that their conditions of life may be improved.
Obviously, taking this further can include mental health and wellbeing. We cannot thank players of the national lottery enough for helping support local organizations such as us. Without this vital financial support, we would not be able to undertake the program of support that means so much to each and every one of our group, it's executive committee and trustees.
